Alternative, non-animal methods in science represent progress for people and animals. Innovations in biology and technology already have made it possible to achieve brilliant research; accurate, human-relevant testing; and humane science education without subjecting animals to experiments. But there is much more work to do.

Since 1993, the Alternatives Research & Development Foundation has been a leader in funding new ways to find answers to important scientific questions. We award grants with high scientific merit and the greatest potential to replace and reduce animals. We are proud to be a part of a field of science that is not only exciting and cutting-edge, but holds promise to advance society's values and science the world over.
